Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee

The Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building public understanding, leadership, and support for better transportation and mobility across Middle Tennessee.

Founded in 2009, the Alliance has spent more than 15 years bringing together residents, business leaders, elected officials, community organizations, and transportation professionals to learn, connect, and take action on the region’s mobility challenges.

Our flagship and longest-running program, the Transit Citizen Leadership Academy (TCLA), has become a cornerstone of that work, helping hundreds of regional leaders better understand how transportation decisions are made and how they can influence the future of mobility in their communities.

Our Mission: To build awareness and support for funding regional multimodal transit by mobilizing community leadership across Middle Tennessee.

Our Vision: A connected Middle Tennessee where people can reliably access jobs, education, healthcare, opportunity, and one another, regardless of where they live or whether they drive.

The Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee builds informed, connected, and engaged leaders who can help advance better mobility across the region.

We do this through leadership development, civic education, community engagement, and advocacy programs, including the Transit Citizen Leadership Academy (TCLA), Alumni 2 Ambassador (A2A) programming, Transit Champions, Breakfast for Better Mobility, educational events, workshops, and community conversations.

Our programs bring together residents, business and nonprofit leaders, public officials, transportation professionals, and advocates to better understand regional transportation challenges, build relationships, and turn knowledge into action.
