Salama Urban Ministries

For more than 30 years, Salama (Swahili word for peace) has served the Greater Nashville area by providing life-changing programs that equip children with skills needed for success in life. Salama is a place where children are transformed by love, instilled with hope, and equipped with knowledge to reach their full potential. The youth development model consists of a year-round, 5-day/week extended learning program and a 6 week summer session that includes a full summer production at Belmont University's Troutt Theater. 

Salama is committed to improving each child's life trajectory through Christ-centered academic enrichment, performing arts instruction, and character development.
