This Medicare Counseling Training Workshop is a free training for all of those volunteers interested in volunteering with the SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) program. You will learn how to provide counseling to Medicare beneficiaries and their families, and be able to help them feel confident about their health insurance decisions.
The first day of training will qualify you for Level II, both days of training are required to receive Level III certification for one-on-one counseling.
Training will be from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on each day.
After the training we will schedule individual shadow and training sessions for you, so you can get completely comfortable with the materials before you provide counseling on your own.
As a Volunteer with SHIP you can make a huge help to people newly enrolling into Medicare or by helping those already enrolled to get extra assistance, if they qualify, and help them with their prescription drug cost.
Lunch will be provided for all attending the training, so an RSVP is required.
