Belmont is getting involved with The Big Book DRIVE - Book'em's citywide book drive and fundraiser happening September 21st-26th, though you can make donations any time between now and the 26th!. Their goal is not only to supply books for Nashville's kids, but also garner community-wide support during one of the most unconventional starts to a school year.
Belmont's Office of Campus Security is taking part of this book drive with MNPD. They are collecting books (new/used) for kids 0-18 years in a small box at the front of the office in the waiting area in the Gabhart Student Center. They have a larger box in the back, but are working to get the small one filled! Bring any donations you have available.
Belmont University also has a virtual book drive page. Donations made through the the virtual book drive will go directly towards purchasing books for Nashville's kids. Book'em works with a variety of wholesale vendors to purchase books in bulk at deeply discounted prices. A donation of $2.50 will purchase a brand new book for a child in need. You can make a donation of your choice, or purchase a book bundle, which represents their highest requested book categories. You can check out their book drive catalog to see the types of books they will purchase with donations!
