The Service of Hope is an annual event facilitated by Healing Arts Project Inc. (HAPI) to celebrate faith, hope, and recovery. This ecumenical service supports individuals recovering from mental health and substance use disorders. The event typically includes a worship service with musical selections, readings, a call to worship, and a collection of donations. After the service, there is a reception where food is served, and speakers and performers share their talents, including spoken word presentations. The event aims to promote healing, community awareness, and inclusion through artistic expression. Additionally, donations collected during the event are often used to support other organizations or individual artists in need, furthering their ongoing work.
The theme of this year's Service of Hope, Poetic Healing, corresponds with the theme of HAPI's new Faith, Hope, and Recovery in Letters booklet. The purpose of the service and booklet is to inspire attendees and readers with a message of hope and to celebrate creative expression as a powerful tool for recovery.
