Become a volunteer reading tutor with the YMCA today! Y-Literacy provides free one-on-one tutoring to students grades K-5 who are assessed as reading below grade-level. Our volunteers undergo a straightforward training process to ensure they are comfortable before beginning-- All it takes is a willing heart and a smiling face!

At this time almost all tutoring is conducted VIRTUALLY! No need to worry about your commute, parking, or Nashville traffic. If you would like to read with a student in-person with a supervised Y-staff, let us know! 
 
Volunteers commit to working with their student once per week for 1 hour. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday-Thursday starting between 3-7pm. Volunteers are paired with a student based on compatible availability. 

Fall Semester: September - December
Spring Semester: February - May
Summer Semester: June & July
