Volunteer: Virtual Opportunity-Compassionate Listeners Needed To Make Weekly Check in Calls to Hospice Families

accentCare Hospice Volunteers make a profound impact in the lives of our hospice patients and their loved ones. As a Circle of Care Call volunteer, you can serve patients and families on hospice care. Volunteers make a weekly call on WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY to check in on patients and families to make sure they have all the supplies/medications needed for the weekend and that they are feeling supported.

After volunteers go through orientation and shadowing, calls can be made from their homes or in our Franklin office after orientation period.

No previous hospice experience is needed, accentCare Hospice will provide training and support throughout your time as a volunteer.

You will have the opportunity to offer companionship to patients in their home, assisted living, or skilled nursing facility while adhering to current health and safety guidelines. Volunteer time is flexible to work with your schedule.

Volunteer activities with patients include: Listening to a patient's stories, reading aloud to them from the spiritual text of their choice, listening to spiritual music, prayer, supporting a patient in their faith practices.

Volunteers are assigned to a patient with a similar faith/spiritual background to visit.

Volunteers DO NOT provide any hands-on care such as changing a patient, feeding a patient, bathing, giving medications, etc.

Volunteer time is flexible to work with your schedule. Must have transportation, we place you with a patient near your home.

Volunteer activities with patients include: Listening to a patient's stories, reading aloud, watching TV, providing caregiver relief in the home, listening to music, doing crafts, but most of all, supporting someone dealing with a terminal illness.

Volunteers DO NOT provide any hands-on care such as changing a patient, feeding a patient, bathing, giving medications, etc.
