Volunteer: Earth Day Celebration In Centennial Park!

REMEMBER: to receive credit for this Volunteer Service, you MUST also register and claim your spot on the Conservancy's Volunteer site. (If you absolutely cannot work the whole shift and need for a custom schedule, you can email the Volunteer Manager to make arrangements). 

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2026 Earth Day Festival in Centennial Park! This free, all-ages event celebrates our amazing planet and features music, a parade, arts activities for kids, sustainability initiatives and education, great food and drink, local vendors, a free tree giveaway and really good vibes!

Proceeds from Earth Day will fund environmental projects across Nashville including urban canopy restoration, waterway clean-up, bee pollinator programs and more. For more information visit: www.nashvilleearthday.org!


Earth Day takes place on Saturday, April 18th from 11 AM to 5 PM in Centennial Park   Minimum age for volunteers: 16 years (unless supervised by an adult)  Volunteers should expect to be on their feet for the duration of their shift. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle as needed.You are welcome to sign up for more than one shift.Except for the first shift,   please plan to come about 15 minutes early if you can. That way, you'll be signed in and ready to roll when the shift ahead of you needs to be relieved!What will volunteers do?

Volunteers are essential to making this event happen! They will be involved in many different kinds of activities including:


vendor set-up and registrationparking and traffic monitoring"Green Sweeping" litter collection in the parkPartnering with Waste Management at Recycling StationsAssisting the Conservancy Booth with fundraising, merchandise and surveystear-down and clean-upWhat will volunteers need to bring or wear?

Volunteers should expect to be on their feet for the duration of their shift. Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle as needed. Snacks and water will be provided. If you might need a camp chair for breaks, you're welcome to bring one, and there will be limited storage at the Volunteer staging tent.

Help Promote and Preserve Centennial Park! Ambassadors needed to represent the Conservancy Want to become a knowledgeable and enthusiastic representative of a treasured Nashville icon? As a volunteer Ambassador for the Centennial Park Conservancy, you will play a crucial role in promoting, protecting and preserving the Park for generations to come. We need your outgoing personality, flexibility, and enthusiasm to engage residents and visitors within our beloved Centennial Park.  
As an Ambassador, you will work alongside paid staff members in:

 

•Engaging park visitors to provide information about the park’s history, features and events

 

•Fostering positive interaction and creating a welcoming atmosphere to enhance the park experience

 

•Collaborating with staff and other volunteers to ensure events unfold smoothly

 

•Staying informed about current park projects, updates, and developments

 

•Maintaining understanding of the Centennial Park Conservancy’s mission, vision and values

 

•Actively encouraging visitors to support the Conservancy through membership, donations, and volunteering

 

•Collecting and providing feedback from visitors to help improve the park’s offerings and visitor experience

 

 

Qualifications:

 

•Passion for Centennial Park

•Enjoyment of interacting with people in support of a good cause

•Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of paid and volunteer staff

•Availability to attend at least three events per year
