Volunteer: Debris Removal in Davidson - Belmont University - 4/25

Help our neighbors by cleaning up debris left by Winter Storm Fern! When you volunteer, you will be making an immediate, visible difference. You will be helping a neighbor who may be older, living alone, or physically unable to clear their own property, as well as those who are unable to afford the steep cost of debris removal - giving families hope that they won’t be left behind.

Volunteer activities include sorting disaster debris on right-of-way into appropriate piles for pick up. Debris includes vegetation, construction materials, and household appliances. This may require lifting and carrying objects that weigh 20+ pounds.

Important safety information: Closed-toe shoes and long pants required. Heavy soles and steel toes preferred. Gloves and safety goggles will be provided, or you may bring your own. Current tetanus vaccination recommended. Chainsaws, utility crews, and heavy equipment will be active in the area. Volunteers under the age of 18 are prohibited from participating.

Please eat before you arrive and bring a water bottle, if needed. Restroom opportunities may also be limited once you are in the disaster area.

Please express interest and a representative will be in contact about next steps. Thank you for helping our neighbors recover after the storm! Together, we are building stronger communities through service.

Once you have responded to this project via the GetConnected system, a Hands On representative will be in contact about additional steps to finalize your spot in the project.
