The Healing Arts Project, Inc. (HAPI) is a non-profit organization that was established in 2004 with the mission of providing artistic opportunities for persons in mental health and addiction recovery to promote healing, community awareness and inclusion. 

We're seeking volunteers during the day for our in office support needs. This may include:

- Administrative office support

- Organizing art work in database 

- Manage art class schedules 

- Prep art for sales

HAPI's biggest event of the year is the Phoenix Art Gala, and will be 2/15/24.  In the time leading up to this event, volunteer tasks will be organized to help prepare for the event.  Tasks may include:

-Picking up Gala supplies, artwork, etc

-Documenting/logging art received for the Gala

This is a new initiative for HAPI. We plan to operate the Art Store every Thursday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Location: 107 A Donelson Pike, Nashville, TN 37214

Time Commitment: Once a week availability between the following times of 10 am - 2:00 pm

Overview: We seek a friendly and reliable volunteer/student to assist in our art store once a week. As an Art Store Clerk, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment for customers, supporting sales, and maintaining the store’s appearance.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, assist with inquiries, and provide information about the artworks and artists.

Sales Transactions: Handle sales transactions, including cash and credit card payments, and issue receipts.

Store Maintenance: Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing.

Inventory Management: Assist with inventory tasks, such as restocking items and updating inventory records.

Promotion: Help promote store events and special offers to customers.

Support Artists: Provide support to artists who are displaying their work in the store.

Qualifications:

Friendly and approachable demeanor Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Basic math skills for handling sales transactions

Attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus, but not required

HAPI provides free classes taught by a professional artist to a person with mental illness.  Additionally, HAPI encourages and advances HAPI artists by curating, managing, and promoting public exhibitions across Tennessee.  Exhibits close to peer support centers allow artists and their peers to view their art publicly.  Public display of their work builds artists' confidence and pride in their abilities and brings a new degree of respect and support from their family and friends.

The Data Entry Specialist (Art Database) position at HAPI is an ongoing support requirement. We offer flexible volunteer opportunities that can accommodate students' schedules. Our office hours span from 7 am to 8 pm, including weekends. We are committed to working around students' availability within these timeframes.
