Shelby Park is home to many native plant garden beds, and they need regular maintenance to keep them looking their best! Join us for an event to weed and/or plant at these beds to keep the park as beautiful as possible.
What will volunteers be doing at this event?
Volunteers will be weeding and/or planting in garden beds by using their hands or small tools.
What is the community impact of this event?
By keeping the park beautiful, it feels more welcoming to our neighbors. Also, native plants help feed hundreds of animals and insects that call the park home!
Accessibility:
You will need to be able to bend over and/or rest on your knees as you weed. Ability to use at least one hand is required.
What should volunteers bring or wear?
Volunteers should wear clothing that they don't mind getting dirty. All tools will be provided by Friends of Shelby.
