Opened in 1924, the Shelby Park Golf Course is one of the oldest municipal courses in the United States. This year, they'll be celebrating their 100th year, so we'll help spruce up their landscaping beds ahead of their grand re-opening!
What will volunteers be doing at this event?
Join Friends of Shelby as we beautify the clubhouse by pulling weeds, planting new plants around the building, and raking over mulch.
What is the community impact of this event?
The Shelby Golf Course provides an affordable opportunity for community members to recreate and had done so for nearly 100 years! By maintaining and beautifying this space, we are helping to create a welcoming and enjoyable space for community members.
What should volunteers bring to this event?
Please bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Tools, gloves, and additional water will be provided.
Accessibility/safety
Restrooms will be available at the location in the Shelby Golf Course Clubhouse This event will require participants to bend down and get in the dirt, as we will be weeding, mulching, and planting.

FOS Mission/Summary: Founded in 2008, the Friends of Shelby is a private, nonprofit organization working to preserve, enhance, and promote Shelby Park and Bottoms for everyone to appreciate and protect.
