On Sunday, October 22nd, Walk Bike Nashville is hosting 2023 Open Streets! The event will close down Arthur Ave. from Buchanan to Jefferson Streets to vehicles from noon to 5:00 PM. We put on this event every year to highlight local businesses and help advocate for a more walkable, bikeable Nashville!
Volunteers needed to help with:
- Set-Up: We will be setting up the street from 11:00 AM to Noon on Sunday morning. We will be pitching tents, setting up vendors and street signs, and making sure the street is cleaned up ahead of the event.
- Breakdown: We will be wrapping up the event from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Duties will include breaking down vendors and cleaning up trash along the route.
- Counter: The Counter will help gather data about Open Streets and its attendees. WBN has a specific way of determining how many people attend the event, and knowing this number helps us with future Open Streets. Shifts Available: 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM & 2:15 PM to 5:00 PM.
- Hub Management: You will be responsible for aiding staff in running 1 of 5 of our activity hubs. The Hubs include Art, Music, Advocacy, Kids, and Community. You will interact heavily with attendees of Open Streets and help achieve tasks specific to each hub. Shifts Available: 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM & 2:15 PM to 5:00 PM
- Runner: WBN will need runners throughout the event to help deliver objects, run errands and convey information along the route. Shifts Available: 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM & 2:15 PM to 5:00 PM
