Description

We invite you to join Tennessee Environmental Council (TEC) and Dan Mills Elementary students, teachers, and parents in restoring pollinator habitat with native wildflowers supporting pollinator species, native bees, butterflies, moths, and many more species. This pollinator garden will provide a habitat for pollinators and create an excellent educational opportunity for students.

You will be engaged in the following activities :

  • remove the sod and remaining roots from the garden area
  • shoveling and transporting soil with wheelbarrows into the pollinator habitat
  • spreading the soil with rakes
  • adding native wildflower seeds to the soil

TEC will provide all the necessary tools, gloves, and water in a large jug. Please bring your refillable water bottle.

Feel free to bring your garden tools (rake, hoe, wheelbarrow, shovel, etc.) and dress for the garden (closed-toe shoes, long sleeve shirt, and long pants).

This garden is made possible by the support of TVA

Contact our Volunteer and Field Event coordinator, Bryn Beauchamp, at Bryn@tectn.org if you have any questions.
