Davidson County 4-H is looking for students interested in helping with our Music Maker Fun Saturday on April 1st from 10am-2pm.
The day will be split into three parts.
- The first will be teaching our 4th-6th grade participants a little about music theory and giving them an opportunity to play some instruments that we will have for them.
- The second is that we will be teaching participants about songwriting and will be writing a song as a group.
- The third part is a recording element. We will be taking the song we made as a group and creating a recording of it.
We are looking for students specifically for the recording aspect, but we could use help for the songwriting part as well! We would like students who are able to give a 10-15 minute outline of the recording process and assist with recording a 1-2 minute song. Student helpers are welcome to use whatever DAW they would like, but we were planning to use GarageBand for simplicity’s sake.
This is a perfect opportunity for anyone who enjoys music and working with kids, or if they need to get that last bit of community service WELL Core before graduation!
