The Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee (DSAMT) organizes The Extra Mile℠ to celebrate and support individuals with Down syndrome and their families and to promote understanding and acceptance of those with Down syndrome. Approximately 4,000 participants from Middle Tennessee are expected at this year’s walk, making it the largest Down syndrome awareness event in the state and our primary source of funding for our programs. The Extra Mile℠ will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023 on the site of the TN State Fairgrounds 175 Peyton Road, Lebanon, TN 37087.
The Extra Mile℠ would in no way be possible without the help from all of our wonderful volunteers! Each volunteer is guaranteed to bring smiles, joy, and laughter to so many families at the walk.

- Food Vendors
- Trash Monitoring
- Directing traffic/parking
- AND much more!!
Our Biggest need is at 6:30am, but we will need volunteers all day until the event is over around 3pm. T-Shirts will be provided to volunteers while supplies last.
