The Raise Your Hand Tutoring Program (RYH) is a free academic intervention program for students reading below their grade-level.
What We Do
The Raise Your Hand Tutoring Program partners with administrators and teachers to implement tutoring sessions in participating schools. RYH increases literacy rates by forming a classroom partnerships with volunteer tutors and teachers for each student. We work together with communities to provide tutoring services to children grades 1-8 in five districts. One of the districts that we are partnered with is Robertson County Schools. We are looking to provide tutors for children in Robertson County Schools as part of the Raise Your Hand Tutoring Program. We are currently working with 11 elementary schools in the Robertson County Schools. It is a great way to earn community service hours and Tennessee promise hours while helping a child read to succeed!
Volunteers will be matched with schools according to their availability, but we ask for a minimum of one shift a week.
A background check is required but will be provided at no cost to the volunteer.
