Winter Break Camp: Tech the Halls - December 30 to January 3*
Batteries, LEDs, capacitors…oh my! This camp introduces campers to the INSIDE world of electronics. Budding engineers will have the opportunity to take electronics apart and make crafts that move, light up, and make sound, all while learning the basics of coding, electrical components, and how things work.
*Regular camp schedules will occur on New Year's Eve (December 31) and New Year's Day (January 1).
ASC Volunteers work with counselors and other staff members during camp to provide campers with the best experience possible.
Volunteer Tasks and Duties During Camp:
- Assist staff in monitoring campers
- Gather supplies for camp counselors
- Help campers with activities and crafts
- Engage with campers & spread the FUN!
- Set a positive example
ONBOARDING EXPECTATIONS: It is standard procedure at Adventure Science Center for our volunteers 18 and older to complete a background check. You are required to complete this before starting any volunteer role. Because of the nature of our work and mobile accessibility in our communities of service, you may come in contact with a minor even if the position you are volunteering for is not student-oriented. We will send the link via email after you complete this sign-up.What to wear: Closed-toe shoes, comfortable & appropriate clothing.
Bring a refillable water bottle, a snack, and lunch!
When you arrive, you may enter through the front doors. Volunteers will sign in at the security desk, put their things away in the volunteer lounge, and then gather will the rest of camp for instruction.
