The Special Olympics Tennessee Fitness Program is a wellness project focused on fitness, nutrition, and mental health for teens and adults ages 15+ with intellectual disabilities. Through fitness and health outcomes, we can empower our athletes to develop appropriate health goals and measure realistic outcomes, to improve all health disparities our population with intellectual disabilities faces.
Join us for the 2025 Middle Tennessee Regional Fitness Games a high-energy event where Special Olympics athletes team up to compete in a series of physical performance stations. Designed to promote fitness, teamwork, and fun, this event brings the community together to celebrate strength, determination, and sportsmanship. Volunteers play a key role in supporting athletes, ensuring a smooth competition, and creating an encouraging environment for everyone involved. Volunteer responsibilities will include: set up and break down of fitness stations, facilitate flow of competition, cheer on athletes at each fitness station, assist coaches in counting/tracking reps and proper recording of scoring. No experience is required and training is provided upon arrival.
