accentCare Hospice is looking for Musically Talented Volunteers to visit patients throughout Middle TN in Davidson, Williamson, Cheatham, Dickson, and Hickman Counties.

As a Hospice Music Volunteer, you will collaborate with our full-service medical and psycho-social care team to help patients and their family members. You will have the opportunity to offer music to patients in their home, assisted living, or skilled nursing facility while adhering to current health and safety guidelines. Volunteer time is flexible to work with your schedule.

Volunteer activities with patients include: Listening to a patient's stories, playing your musical instrument of choice, singing, discussing music, writing a song together, bringing a device/speaker to play music on, but most of all, supporting someone dealing with a terminal illness.

Volunteers DO NOT provide any hands-on care such as changing a patient, feeding a patient, bathing, giving medications, etc.)

No previous hospice experience is needed, accentCare Hospice will provide training and support throughout your time as a volunteer. Our volunteers are part of our team that provides excellent care to those at the end of life. Your gift of compassionate presence is valued! Have questions let us know.

• Event Prep (Day Before) - April 17th (3:00-6:00pm): Assist with preparing materials and supplies needed for the event. 

• Event Set-Up (Day Of) - April 18th (8:00-10:00am): Help transform the space for the event by placing materials, arranging tables, setting up donations, etc..

• Floater (During Event) - April 18th (10:00am-2:00pm): Serve wherever support is needed most. Tasks may include: tidying throughout the event; running a table or activity; assisting with operations and logistics; providing guidance to families and attendees; etc.

• Tear Down (After Event) - April 18th (1:00-3:00pm): Assist with breaking down the event space, cleaning up, and packaging leftover items that will be picked up by our partners at ThriftSmart.

Join us as we help out Rosebank Elementary with their Art Show! Art show will be on Wednesday, April 8 from 5 - 730p. Volunteers will need to be prepared to help out as needed, be friendly and engaging around families, and ready to have a fun time as kids showcase all their artwork! Rosebank Elementary is looking for help setting up their upcoming kids art show! If you are available anytime between 810a - 315p on Monday and/or Tuesday April 6 + 7, please email jenn@littlearthousefoundation.org. Hours can be up to you ( you could help for a couple, a few, all day, etc). You would just email the day and times you are available. They have a good set-up system, just need more hands on deck to get everything done. Dress comfortably and appropriate for a school. 

Join our Extraordinary Friends group of adults  with Down syndrome ages 18+ for a fun night at DSAMT. We will have pizza, karaoke, games and a lot of fun! Volunteers are needed to help supervise participants, coordinate games, and man a karaoke machine. The event will take place at the DSAMT office 1310 Central Court, Hermitage, TN 37076 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.

Napier Elementary School is in need of volunteer test proctors from April 20th through April 30th.

Proctors are essential for all schools undergoing TCAP or end of course testing. You will help monitor students and assist the classroom teacher as students take their tests. The Edgehill Community is seeking volunteers for our 2026 Edgehill Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt! We welcome volunteers ready to have fun with Edgehill residents young and old at our 3rd annual Eggstravaganza. Get ready for a fun and high-energy event! Volunteers must be 21+ to join in on the excitement. During the first half of the race, you’ll help keep participants going strong by working at a water station or celebrating finishers with a wine pour at the finish line.

In the second half, the real fun begins! Volunteers will be stationed along the walking trail, pouring and sharing samples of a variety of spirits with participants. It’s a great way to be part of the action, support the runners and walkers, and enjoy an upbeat, social atmosphere along the course.

Come ready to have fun, bring the energy, and help create an unforgettable experience! 

The Antioch Cluster Coordinators are hosting our 2nd annual Health and Wellness Resource Fair at Antioch High School on Saturday, April 25th. We will need Volunteers help with setting out tables, checking vendors in, checking on vendors, pointing vendors to the restrooms, break down after the event.

Volunteers and Vendors will need to arrive around 8:30am for set up. Event will happen between 10am-2:00pm and break down will start at 2:00pm and end at 3:00pm.

There will be parking near the football field/track where volunteers will be able to park. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. We will send out more details closer to the event.

The 55th Annual Spring Tennessee Craft Fair is right around the corner! This May 1, 2, 3 Centennial Park will be our home to celebrate craft, with demonstrations, Kids' Tent activities, a food truck court, and -- of course -- exemplary craft artists bringing delightful craft art from across the nation. Sun and warm temperatures beckon in May, so plan to volunteer outdoors with us.

The Martha O'Bryan Center needs upbeat, positive volunteers to assist in the food pantry. On Mondays and Thursdays, volunteers will be able to help with unloading deliveries. Every day of the week, volunteers will be able to work alongside clients to 'shop' in our food pantry and pick out the items that will serve them the most. Volunteers will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of the premises, bringing heavier boxes out to client cars.

Do you love conservation? Want to work outdoors to protect the natural ecosystems of Shelby Park and Bottoms? We need you!

Shelby Park and Bottoms is a natural oasis in the heart of the city. The forests here are a refuge for people and wildlife alike. Our Shelby forests need help: they are being overtaken by invasive plant species. Through our Restore the Forest program, we remove invasive species and replant native species to revitalize a healthy forest ecosystem.

What is the community impact of this event?

Healthy forests are beautiful for park visitors, provide food and shelter for wildlife and make our local ecosystem more resilient by promoting and enhancing growth of native plant species.

What will volunteers be doing at this event?

At this event, we will be uprooting and cutting down honeysuckle and privet plants with weed wrenches, loppers, and hand saws. They will work in small groups under the supervision of experienced staff that will help teach proper plant identification and safe tool usage.

Accessibility:

This event will include hiking while carrying heavy tools over uneven ground, and we will be working off-trail within the woods. Please dress according to the weather. Porta-potties are located a short walk from our worksite, and there should always be ample parking located nearby the worksite.

What to bring?

I recommend bringing your own water bottle and sunscreen. Water, gloves, all necessary tools, and additional water will be provided. Please wear sturdy shoes that are good for gardening (e.g. hiking boots), long socks, and long pants to protect yourselves from sticks and thorns in the forest. If possible, long sleeved shirts can also be helpful for protection, but please dress according to the weather.

Special Projects Volunteers may help by donating needed items, creating handmade gifts, assisting with legacy or remembrance projects, arranging flowers, helping with gardening or yard work, or supporting other meaningful tasks that bless patients and families. Opportunities can include crafting, collecting supplies, assembling gifts, or helping with seasonal and community-based projects.

This role is flexible and can be a wonderful fit for individuals, groups, clubs, churches, or community partners who want to make a tangible impact through service.

Support Caris Hospice behind the scenes by serving as an Administrative Volunteer. This role is a great fit for volunteers who enjoy staying organized, helping with office projects, and supporting meaningful work in a practical way.

Administrative Volunteers may assist with tasks such as clerical work, assembling information packets, making calls, answering phones, organizing medical supplies, computer-based projects, creating bulletin boards, helping with holiday decorations, and assisting with community events, projects, or presentations. This role helps our team serve patients and families more effectively every day.

Volunteers typically serve in or through our Nashville office during weekday business hours. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who want to make a difference in hospice care without providing direct patient care.

The A.Z Kelley Elementary CROCS need your help!  We want to provide the children with interesting and fun facts about various careers! We are planning to have a “Career Day” on April 10, 2026! The presentations will begin at 9:00am and should be over by 11:30am. We need parents and/or volunteers to present and explain the duties of their careers to the children! The presentations should last only 10-12 minutes and be presented on an elementary school grade level (PreK-5th) with the interest levels and comprehension abilities of this age child kept in mind. There will need to be visuals to help the children understand what your career involves.  It would also be great if you could provide some type of token such as stickers, pens, badges, and any tangible object that the child may take with them. 

Volunteers will rotate among classes with 20-minute rotations within a certain grade level! If you will help us by presenting or providing a speaker, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible by returning the attached form so that this special day may be reserved for a fun-filled day of instruction!

Enjoy watching our lawn and ridgeline fill with colorful kites this fall at Mill Ridge Park's Bi-Annual Kite Fest. We need your help with a variety of tasks that may include welcoming park visitors, assembling kites, demonstrating proper kite flying etiquette, facilitating lawn games, replenishing snacks and beverages, and post-event cleanup. Instructions and support for volunteers will be available onsite by park staff. Check in upon arrival at the welcome table for specific role information and supplies.

Kite Fest takes place at Mill Ridge Park in Antioch, TN during the spring and fall seasons. The event space will be marked with orange cones, yellow flags, and a Kite Fest sign at the driveway entrance. Please park in the grass along the gravel drive, across from the red barns.

To ensure your safety and comfort, please wear comfortable shoes for grassy, uneven terrain. Prepare for exposure to the sun and bugs (sunscreen and bug spray provided). Snacks and beverages provided to volunteers.

The Nashville Sports Council needs volunteers to serve in the following areas at the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon.

Water Stations are a great opportunity for corporate teams, community organizations, student groups, sports teams, and friends to volunteer together while supporting an exciting event in Nashville. If your group is a non-profit, or represents a charity - you can qualify for grant money!

Become a volunteer reading tutor with the YMCA today! Y-Literacy provides free one-on-one tutoring to students grades K-5 who are assessed as reading below grade-level. Our volunteers undergo a straightforward training process to ensure they are comfortable before beginning-- All it takes is a willing heart and a smiling face!

At this time almost all tutoring is conducted VIRTUALLY! No need to worry about your commute, parking, or Nashville traffic. If you would like to read with a student in-person with a supervised Y-staff, let us know!

Special Olympics Tennessee Fitness Program is a wellness initiative focused on fitness, nutrition, and mental health for teens and adults (ages 13+) with intellectual disabilities. Through goal-setting and measurable outcomes, we aim to empower athletes to take control of their health and reduce the disparities often faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities.

One of our key programs, Train 4 Life, is a 12-week fitness, nutrition, and wellness series. Each session lasts 60 minutes and is designed to help athletes build healthy habits in a supportive, inclusive environment. Weekly workout sessions starting January 19th through April 11th. I will contact you with specific instructions for the letters and the address to send them to. Children are welcome to contribute also (an adult is required for minors to sign up).

Grab some friends and get creative!

Volunteers will work in groups to prepare a reading circle for Family Literacy Day. The group will choose a theme, bring books to match the theme, and read with pre-K through 6th graders from Nashville public schools and the community during Family Literacy Day.

Reading Circles will happen continuously from 1-4pm. Individual volunteers are not required to be present for all three hours, but there should be at least 2-3 people present at each Reading Circle at all times.

Individuals can join day-of reading circles based on themed book groups. However, we encourage you to organize with a group and come prepared with books, decorations, and/or outfits to match your chosen theme! If you are volunteering as a part of a group, please indicate that in the response questions.

We have ongoing needs for volunteers to support our patients and their loved ones. Patients at home often need someone to sit with them, so that their caregiver can leave the home to run errands or attend appointments. Patients who live alone benefit from companionship visits and even a volunteer who may help tidy their home or cook for them. Patients who have pets may wish for a volunteer to spend time with their animals (dog walking or playing with pets). Musicians can play/sing for patients. Volunteers who enjoy arts and crafts can guide patients in creating.

Patients in nursing homes often don't have anyone to visit them or their loved ones worry because they aren't able to visit as often as they'd like. Volunteers who visit patients in facilities talk with or read to patients, help their patients participate in facility activities like Bingo or meal times.

Most patients who want a volunteer only need a once a week visit. The visits are typically between 2-4 hours, depending on volunteer availability. Depending on a patient's condition, a volunteer may only visit once or they may have a long-term relationship. 

Note to students: Weekly shifts are not guaranteed for these types of visits; there are times when patients do not need support.

Volunteering is typically flexible with the volunteers' availability.

We need volunteers who can work the front desk of our administrative building on our Nashville campus. We currently have a 1-4 pm shift available Tuesdays and Thursdays.
This position calls for volunteers to buzz guests in and sometimes assisting departmental leaders with various admin tasks. Students are able to bring a laptop or books to study during shifts.
