Needs From: Belmont Office of Community-Engaged Learning and Service

Volunteer: Welcome Note for Clients

Each TNDR client receives a “welcome bag” upon admission, including some basic necessities for their stay. One thing we’d like to include is a personal note from a TNDR supporter. This would be a simple project you could do from home, costing very little money, that goes a long way to show our clients that someone believes in them! Please mail to or drop notes off at:

The Next Door Recovery

402 22nd Ave N, Nashville TN 37203

For any questions, please email Development Coordinator Kaitlyn McCarthy at kaitlyn.mccarthy@thenextdoor.org.

Volunteer: Serve Lunch/Dinner

Each day, our kitchen staff would welcome 1-2 volunteers to assist with serving meals to our clients. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to eat with and get to know the women in treatment at The Next Door.

For any questions, please email Community Outreach and Events Coordinator Mary Spencer Veazey at volunteer@thenextdoor.org.

Dear Potential Volunteer,

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, you are strongly encouraged to volunteer virtually rather than in person. In fact, many in-person volunteer opportunities have been cancelled in response to concerns over the virus. If you are considering volunteering for this Need, even though it’s not advised at this time, please be sure and contact the agency directly before signing up to make sure that the opportunity is still scheduled, and follow all of the CDC’s Guidelines to protect yourself and others.

If you choose to volunteer in person, you agree that you understand the associated risks and accept them.

Stay safe and well!
