Help brighten someone’s day through the simple gift of companionship. Volunteers at West Meade Place spend time visiting with individuals who may benefit from conversation, encouragement, and a friendly face.

Visits may include talking, listening to stories, reading aloud, playing cards or simple games, enjoying music, or simply sitting together. No medical experience is needed. Volunteers receive training and support from Caris Healthcare.

This opportunity is perfect for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and comfortable spending one-on-one time with older adults.

Volunteer hours are as many as you want to spend! We do ask for at least a one semester commitment 

Bring comfort and connection to individuals at The Meadows by becoming a companionship volunteer. This role centers on building relationships through regular, friendly visits.

Volunteers may spend time talking, listening, reading, enjoying music, completing simple activities, or simply being present. Each visit is shaped by the interests and comfort of the individual being visited.

No medical experience is necessary. Caris Healthcare provides training, ongoing support, and help getting connected at the facility.

Caris Healthcare provides training and support, so no previous healthcare or volunteer experience is required.

Support Caris Hospice behind the scenes by serving as an Administrative Volunteer. This role is a great fit for volunteers who enjoy staying organized, helping with office projects, and supporting meaningful work in a practical way.

Administrative Volunteers may assist with tasks such as clerical work, assembling information packets, making calls, answering phones, organizing medical supplies, computer-based projects, creating bulletin boards, helping with holiday decorations, and assisting with community events, projects, or presentations. This role helps our team serve patients and families more effectively every day.

Volunteers typically serve in or through our Nashville office during weekday business hours. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who want to make a difference in hospice care without providing direct patient care.
