Volunteer: 2026 USA Games Training Camp | Medfest General

Special Olympics is the world’s largest public health organization for individuals with intellectual disabilities, addressing critical health disparities through its Healthy Athletes program. The USA Games Training Camp, hosted by SOTN, is a mandatory weekend where Team TN athletes will meet for the first time. This final step to becoming an official team member includes team-building, meeting coaches, uniform fittings, physicals, practice sessions, and more.

SOTN Before You Volunteer + 2026 USA Games in Minnesota 

General Volunteer responsibilities include: 

Assisting with check-in and check-out at the MedFest stationSupporting medical screenings (medical history, height/weight, blood pressure)Helping maintain flow between screening stationsAssisting with data entryEducating and celebrating with athletes throughout the event!

What to Know Before You Arrive

Please arrive 5–10 minutes early and check in at the registration deskBring a photo ID for check-in — you’ll receive a volunteer shirt (if you already have one, please wear it!)The event will be held indoorsFree on-site parking is availableWear athletic or comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes, as you'll be on your feet for most of the dayDon’t forget to bring a filled water bottle and stay hydrated throughout the event

The 2026 USA Games Training Camp, hosted by SOTN, is a weekend where Team Tennessee athletes will meet for the first time to prepare for representing the state at next year's Special Olympics USA Games in Minneapolis. This final step to becoming an official team member includes team-building, meeting coaches, uniform fittings, physicals, practice sessions, and more.

Media Support Volunteer responsibilities include: 

assist in data collection of the delegation during the photoshoot collect quotes and favorite moments from athletescelebrate with athletes! 

It is requested that each Media Support Volunteer be able to supply their own laptop computer or tablet to gather athlete information digitally.

What to Know Before You Arrive: 

Arrive 5 minutes early and check in at the registration desk in the main lobby of Drury Plaza Hotel. Please bring a photo ID for check-in - you will reserve a volunteer shirt This event will be indoors Free parking will be available on siteRecommend wearing athletic attire and comfortable, closed-toe shoes, as you'll be on your feet for most of the event Bring a filled water bottle and stay hydrated Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone. Please contact the event coordinator to register them
