One by One Ministries

At One by One, it is our mission to mentor and educate new moms to parent well. We provide in-person mentoring in Memphis and parts of West Tennessee and virtual mentoring opportunities across the state. We train volunteers using our evidence-based curriculum that was developed by early childhood educators with input from the University of Tennessee Science Health Center College of Nursing, Baylor University School of Social Work, and The Urban Child Institute. There is no charge for the mentors or the moms to participate in our program.

One by One trains mentors and matches them with pregnant and new moms looking for help. Each mentor talks/texts with her assigned mom weekly and meets with her monthly throughout her pregnancy and until her baby turns one. Mentors teach moms about baby health, wellness, development, and safety and provide activities moms can do with their babies to promote appropriate bonding, growth, and development so their children are kindergarten-ready when the time comes. Mentors also teach moms good parenting and life skills and assist moms when needed in receiving assistance from other agencies to help with housing, transportation, child care, education/job training, counseling, etc. There is no charge for mentors or moms to participate in our program.
