Who We Are
The Office of Homeless Services spearheads Nashville’s efforts to end homelessness. We manage the Homelessness Management Information System (HMIS), foster collaborative connections among stakeholders, create funding opportunities, and serve as asset managers.
What We Do
The Office of Homeless Services is looking for participants to take part in a Homeless Encampment Clean-Ups! Volunteers will assist with the removal of trash and debris located throughout the encampment to create a more sustainable and safe environment. By participating in this project, volunteers can assist our unhoused friends with sustainability and creating a more viable living space. The primary goal of this project is to show dignity to the individuals who live here and show that we are a stronger community when we work together. Parks will be providing trash bags, gloves and pickers. If volunteers feel more comfortable using their own items, they are free to use them. We recommend volunteers wear comfortable shoes with thick soles that you don’t mind getting dirty. I would suggest long pants due to tall prickly plants and thorny bushes in the camp.
