Description

VOLUNTEER TO BUILD A PLAYGROUND with First Lady Maria Lee!

First Lady Maria Lee and her Tennessee Serves initiative are thrilled to partner with Tractor Supply Foundation, Cleary Construction, and the Tennessee Titans to build a playground in Hermitage Springs Park in Clay County with national nonprofit KABOOM! Please join us for a day of fun and hard work as volunteers from the Clay County community and across the state come together to build this playground from the ground up. Here are the details…

WHO: First Lady Maria Lee and her Tennessee Serves team in partnership with KABOOM!, Tractor Supply Foundation, Cleary Construction, and the Tennessee Titans. 200+ volunteers from around the state will be in attendance.

WHAT: Volunteers will come together at Hermitage Springs Park to build the playground, as well as complete several side projects including landscaping, clean up, construction, paint touch-up, etc. While volunteers for the playground construction must be 18+, volunteers 14-18 will be able to participate in working on side projects, and childcare and activities will be provided for potty-trained children under age 14. Breakfast, lunch, and beverages will be provided.

WHEN: Saturday, May 18th, arrive by 8:00 am CT. The day will begin with check-in and breakfast at 8:00 am, followed by a Kick-Off Ceremony at 8:30 am, and will end with a formal Ribbon Cutting at 2:30 pm. The day will conclude around 3:30 pm CT.

WHERE: Hermitage Springs Park, 17246 Clay County Highway, Hermitage Springs, TN 38551

WHY: We are thrilled that after months of planning, it’s time to build! The playground will be a welcome addition to Hermitage Springs Park in Clay County, one of Tennessee’s eight federally designated distressed counties. This brand-new, accessible playground will provide a place for joyful, safe play and encourage the community to gather with their neighbors.
