We need some students who speak other languages who would be interested in being a volunteer “standardized patient” for a big interprofessional activity on Monday, 11/4/24, from 5:30 PM-8:15 PM. (Volunteers will get a free dinner.)
The activity we will be doing is with around 200 medicine, nurse practitioner, occupational therapy, and physical therapy graduate students. They will be coming in as a team of 3-4 students to educate the “standardized patient” on specific patient health education (for instance,“ what is a primary care provider, how to care for a wound, etc.). The goal is to educate a patient using an interpreter over the phone. The “standardized patient” would need to speak through the interpreter to the healthcare students.
Volunteers must respond by Wednesday, October 30th in order to participate.
