Front Desk Volunteer Description
Mission: To unite the Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing communities through education, services, and support, empowering individuals to achieve their full potential.
Purpose of Job: To support staff by providing reception and front-desk duties.
Duties:
· Provide welcome greeting to guests and visitors of the agency
· Answer and forward phone calls, take messages when appropriate
· Provide information about agency and staff, give tours when time allows
· Accept deliveries, route to the appropriate office
· When time permits, assist with mailings (folding letters, stuffing envelopes, etc) or other office tasks
Commitment required: Minimum 2 days/month requested with a one year commitment.
Qualifications: Must be 18 or older, know or willing to learn basic American Sign Language, have a friendly and helpful personality, good communication and customer service skills, the ability to work independently, reliable, responsible, and punctual.
Orientation and training provided: Regular Volunteer Orientations are held throughout the year and are required as an overview for Bridges Volunteers.Training on phones, accepting deliveries, assisting clients, etc. will be discussed.
