Fisk & Belmont Universities have formed a Social Justice Collaborative to identify and address disparities amongst minority communities using data.
As a part of this initiative, Fisk & Belmont are partnering on a cross campus hackathon where students will use data from the Black Wealth Data Center and the Belmont Data Collaborative to identify and address disparities within the North Nashville (37208) community.
This event is located at the Fisk University Library. Please use this link to sign up for the all day event.
Belmont students can receive four Intellectual Well-Being credit and four Community Well-Being Through Service WELL Core credits if participating in the entirety of the event.
We are working on providing a Provost excuse for class attendance should you have a scheduled class on this day. If you sign up by the 3rd of March, you are guaranteed a free t-shirt and will be more likely to be included in the request for class dismissal.
