Join MPDP and the Frist Center for a series of art classes in the theme of "Repair"! Selected artwork from these classes will be showcased in the Frist Center later this year. Please read through the descriptions to decide which class(es) you would like to attend. Classes are FREE, and participants can choose to attend just 1 class or all 3.
Volunteers will help set-up & clean-up. Volunteers will also assist the artists with skills and/or supplies/instruments they are uncomfortable with.
Watercolor and ink collages
Each artist will cover a sheet of watercolor paper in vibrant color and texture using watercolor paints. Then, they will tear the paper into pieces. The artists will glue the torn pieces of paper onto the black sheets of paper in a collage/mosaic style. Lastly, the artists will use black ink pens to draw a design or image of their choice overtop of the torn paper collage, unifying or ”repairing” the image.
