Description

Are you looking to directly serve a member of your community? Perhaps you're a Social Work student or interested in helping in that field? Nashville CARES is in need of CARE Team volunteers to assist clients with practical aspects of daily living. For anyone living with, or at risk for, HIV/AIDS, Nashville CARES is the premier HIV/AIDS agency in the region. We provide comprehensive education, a broad range of targeted services and effective advocacy, all in a highly personal, confidential and compassionate manner.

Many of our clients who are elderly, medically fragile, and/or homebound need of your help! Volunteers are needed for any of the following:

  • Transportation assistance: help with shopping, errands, driving to medical appointments, etc.
  • Light housecleaning: dusting, organizing, light cleaning.
  • Yardwork: weeding or lawnmowing.
  • Social support: our clients don't often get to chat with anyone who is not their doctor or case manager. Simply a 20-minute chat would brighten their day and help immensely!

You will be matched to one client, so that you are able to build a relationship with them, and they can feel supported by their community. And we cater to your schedule: whether you can only help once a month during the evenings, or every week on Saturday, we can match you with the right client.

The CARE Team volunteer role requires you to fill out an application, attend an orientation and pass a background check. We look forward to you helping us end the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Middle Tennessee.
