The Embrace Special Needs Ministry hosts respite events for families impacted by disabilities once a month at Brentwood Baptist Church. Families are able to drop off all of their children (ages 3 through adult) to enjoy three hours of recreation and fun, while parents and caregivers are given a time away to rest and relax. These respite events are open to the community and not limited to members of Brentwood Baptist Church.
Volunteers for this event will rotate with a small group (including other volunteers) of individuals with disabilities through set stations. These stations typically include: Games, snack, music, art, and watching a movie. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. We will provide dinner and a short training session directly before the state of the event.
Volunteers for this event must pre-register to attend and have a background check on file with Brentwood Baptist Church. Please reach out if you are interested in attending, and we will be happy to help you through the volunteer intake process.
