Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2024 Earth Day Festival in Centennial Park!

This free, all-ages event celebrates our amazing planet and features music, a parade, arts activities for kids, sustainability initiatives and education, great food and drink, local vendors, a free tree giveaway and really good vibes!

Proceeds from Earth Day will fund environmental projects across Nashville including urban canopy restoration, waterway clean-up, bee pollinator programs and more. For more information visit:  www.nashvilleearthday.org!

  • Earth Day takes place on Saturday, April 20th from 11 AM to 5 PM in Centennial Park   
  • Minimum age for volunteers: 16 years (unless supervised by an adult)  
  • Volunteers should expect to be on their feet for the duration of their shift. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle as needed.  

FOUR SHIFTS ARE AVAILABLE - YOU MAY REGISTER FOR MORE THAN ONE BUT WILL BE EXPECTED TO WORK EACH WHOLE SHIFT

Set Up Shift

7:30 AM - 10:15 AM

First Event Shift

10:15 AM - 1 PM

Second Event Shift

1 PM - 3:45 PM

Final Event and Tear Down Shift

 3:45 PM - 6:30 PM

 

What should volunteers know about the location?

In Centennial Park between the Bandshell and the Great Lawn, West of 25th Ave N, South of the Parthenon Museum and Lake Watauga.

What will volunteers do?

Volunteers are essential to making this event happen! They will be involved in many different kinds of activities including:

  • vendor set-up and registration
  • parking and traffic monitoring
  • "Green Sweeping" litter collection in the park
  • Partnering with Waste Management at Recycling Stations
  • Assisting the Conservancy Booth with fundraising, merchandise and surveys
  • tear-down and clean-up

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?

Volunteers should expect to be on their feet for the duration of their shift. Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle as needed.

Inclement Weather Plan: Earth Day is held Rain or Shine - only possible delay would be Thunderstorms in which case we hold for 30 minutes, seek shelter and wait for weather to change.
