Do you live in or near Lebanon? You have a chance to help the city of Lebanon with its special census.
The city of Lebanon conducted a special census count in 2024 to identify new residents who have joined the community since the 2020 U.S. Census. This special count is crucial as any growth in population discovered may entitle the city to additional funding from the state's budget, approved by the TN General Assembly. This increased funding can improve roads, sidewalks, community facilities, and city services for its residents. To qualify for this funding, the city is collaborating with GNRC to verify its count, which involves revisiting households to verify the initially provided information.
You can play a vital role in supporting this effort by volunteering to help complete the special census count process. Working in pairs, volunteers will conduct door-to-door interviews to ensure the accuracy of the collected information. Residents have participated in the survey and are aware that there is a verification process. Volunteers will be given a roster containing details from each household that participated in the initial count and a tool for tracking any disparities as they verify the information. GNRC staff will guide volunteers in selecting neighborhoods and streets for deployment. Your volunteer efforts will significantly contribute to the city's eligibility for crucial state funding and the overall betterment of the City of Lebanon.
GNRC will reimburse for milage from your home to the location of the door knocking.
Please sign up for one or multiple shifts below to help with the Special Census Verifications. Please email volunteer@gnrc.org if you have any questions or can only participate in part of a shift. Thank you!
