Join the Cumberland River Compact for a Rain Garden planting event in Clarksville! The 600-square-foot rain garden will collect and clean rainwater before it runs into the West Fork Red River, a 100-mile-long tributary of the Cumberland River. Sediment, nutrients, and habitat alteration impair the West Fork Red River. We are excited to be partnering with Clarksville Parks & Recreation on this project! By participating in this event, you play an active role in improving the health of a river that flows through a beautiful park!
The event involves planting native grasses and flowers and mulching. Bring a water bottle and wear clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty. Registration on VolunteerHub is required and all participants must create their own accounts to sign up. We will provide all the tools and supplies for the project. We look forward to seeing you there!
In addition to responding on Get Connected, please secure your volunteer spot by completing your registration for the event at this link: https://cumberlandrivercompact.volunteerhub.com/vv2/event/a21ff5c5-b10e-4199-95d0-946ca0e2d959
