HAPI in partnership with Connections UMC, we invite you to join us for a vibrant and engaging event where the community comes together to celebrate creativity and healing through art. Community Connections offers a unique opportunity to explore and purchase artwork created by individuals in mental health and addiction recovery. Enjoy family-friendly activities (e.g., face painting, rock painting, pictures with Characters, candle making, and more). This event aims to foster community awareness, inclusion, and support for the healing arts.
We are seeking volunteers for the following:
Registration Volunteer
The Registration Volunteer plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and organized check-in process. They will assist with welcoming attendees, managing the registration table, and providing information about the event. This role is essential for the success of the event.
Responsibilities:
- Check-In: Greet attendees and assist with the registration process.
- Information Distribution: Provide attendees with event details and other relevant information.
- Assistance: Answer questions and direct attendees to various activities and stations.
- Setup and Breakdown: Help set up the registration area before the event and pack up materials after the event.
Activity Station Volunteer
The Activity Station Volunteer will assist with various outdoor and indoor activities, including snow cone and cotton candy stations, jump houses, and face painting. This role is crucial for ensuring that all activities run smoothly and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Activity Management: Oversee and assist with specific activity stations, ensuring they are fun and safe for participants.
- Engagement: Interact with children and families, providing instructions and assistance as needed.
- Safety Monitoring: Ensure that all activities are conducted safely and that equipment is used properly.
- Setup and Breakdown: Assist with setting up activity stations before the event and packing up materials after the event.
Hostess Volunteer
The Hostess Volunteer will assist with welcoming attendees, providing information, and ensuring a positive experience for all guests. This role is essential for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere at the event.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting and Welcoming: Greet attendees as they arrive and provide a friendly welcome.
- Information Sharing: Provide information about the event schedule, activities, and locations.
- Assistance: Answer questions and offer directions to various activities and stations.
- Engagement: Interact with attendees to ensure they are enjoying the event and feel included.
- Setup and Breakdown: Help set up the welcome area before the event and pack up materials after the event.
Kitchen Support Volunteer
The Kitchen Support Volunteer will assist with food preparation, distribution, and cleanup during the event. This role is crucial for ensuring that all food and beverages are served efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Assist with preparing and setting up food and beverage stations.
- Distribution: Serve food and beverages to attendees, ensuring proper portions and presentation.
- Cleanup: Help with cleaning up the kitchen and food service areas after the event.
- Assistance: Provide general assistance in the kitchen as needed, including restocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness.
Candle-Making Class Facilitator
The Candle-Making Class Facilitator will lead a candle-making workshop for attendees, providing instructions and assistance. This role is essential for creating an engaging and educational experience for participants.
Responsibilities:
- Workshop Preparation: Set up the candle-making station with all necessary materials and equipment.
- Instruction: Provide clear and step-by-step instructions to participants on how to make candles.
- Assistance: Offer hands-on assistance and support to participants during the workshop.
- Safety Monitoring: Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed during the candle-making process.
- Cleanup: Assist with cleaning up the workshop area and packing up materials after the event.
Qualifications:
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and warmly with attendees.
Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in customer service or event support is a plus.
Experience with Children: Previous experience working with children is a plus.
Reliability: Punctual and dependable, able to commit to the scheduled shift.
Friendly and Approachable: Creates a positive and welcoming atmosphere for attendees.
