We invite you to join Tennessee Environmental Council (TEC) in maintaining our pollinator habitat at Stratford STEM High School! We will be weeding and collecting seeds from the purple garden next to the tennis courts. This garden was bustling with vibrant asters in September, and now it is time to collect the seeds! We will focus on removing invasive grasses and weeds and collecting wildflower seeds to take home to your garden! By participating in this event, you not only contribute to the preservation of our local ecosystem but also get a chance to learn about native plants and pollinators.
TEC will provide all the necessary tools, gloves, and water in a large jug. Please bring your refillable water bottle. Be sure to dress for the garden (closed-toed shoes, long-sleeve shirt, and long pants). The garden is located near the Stratford STEM High School tennis courts off Porter Road. You may park behind the school in the parking lot or wherever you find an open spot on campus.
Contact our event coordinator, Bryn Beauchamp, at Bryn@tectn.org if you have any questions.
*While TEC volunteer events occur at the school, they are organized independently of the school. Please note that TEC volunteers are not permitted to enter the school while on campus for the TEC volunteer events.
